Mu-Xing therapy uses wooden tools for healing purposes is documented throughout history worldwide. Wood is the energy of spring; it produces the power of birth and renewal, symbolizing life energy, strength, prosperity, longevity, as well as sexuality, fertility and peace. It is these properties, which enable us to move forward with vision and determination. It is believed the use of these wood based tools enhances ones spiritual connection with Mother Earth. All different types of wood in many diverse cultures have a multitude of healing properties. There are two different types of wood used in Mu-Xing Therapy - Rosewood and Bamboo.
Rosewood is a hardwood usually deep red in color, found in Brazil, East India, Japan and Madagascar. The energy of Rosewood is primarily feminine and focused on spiritual, intuitive health and beauty. Rosewood is known to be especially effective in spiritual healing. Derivatives of Rosewood are used to aid in healing stress related conditions including depression.
Bamboo has been used around the world to promote health and well-being. Within China it is seen as a symbol of longevity and has been used to treat infection including respiratory disease. In Japan it is seen to protect from evil - a Bamboo forest surrounds many Buddhist Temples.
Mu-Xing Therapy works on two levels; the warmth of the wood and oil, combine with the specialized techniques, aids in delivering an exceptionally therapeutic massage, expediting the melting away of ischemic tissues.
Thermotherapy is the external application of heat used for therapeutic purposes.
